Canadians Max Parrot and Mark McMorris won a silver and bronze in men's slopestyle with American Redmond Gerard coming away with gold.

After a decent opener in the three-run final, McMorris nailed a backside triple 1620 on the last jump of his second run.

Parrot, from Bromont, Québec, and McMorris, from Regina, Saskatchewan, made their respective silver and bronze medal podium finishes in the slopestyle event. He led entering the final stage of competition four years ago also, but responded better this time on the world's biggest stage.

Fourcade, France's most decorated winter Olympian with four medals including two golds, is a strong contender to take a first gold medal in Pyeongchang in the biathlon sprint.

According to CBC, McMorris was knocked unconscious from the fall and had to be airlifted to Vancouver for emergency surgery to control his bleeding and also fix the breaks to his jaw and arm.
