He added Iran will not let interference in its affairs.

European powers and Iran have started talks over Tehran's role in the Middle East and will meet again this month in Italy as part of efforts to prove to Trump that they are meeting his concerns over the 2015 nuclear deal.

Le Drian's trip was scheduled to take place in January 2018 but it was postponed for some reasons.

In reaction to the French foreign minister's comments, Velayati said Iran has peaceful relations with all its neighboring countries. "It's our right to decide how we should defend ourselves, either by missiles or other defensive weapons", ISNA quoted him as saying in a Farsi report.

The Trump administration has panned the nuclear deal - signed by the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Russia, China, and Iran - for not addressing what it says are Tehran's "destabilizing" activities in the Middle East, including missile testing and support for terrorist groups.

UN Spokesman: Only 2 Flee Eastern Ghouta Despite Ceasefire
He said that no aid has been sent to eastern Ghouta because "we did not get a single facilitation letter by the government". Secretary General Antonio Guterres, these areas are home to 400,000 people.

Separately, Iran confirmed that the Iranian foreign minister had met his former United States counterpart John Kerry on the sidelines of a Munich meeting last month.

"Iran's defence programme is not the concern of other countries such as France, that they should come and tell us what missiles we can have".

The US has repeatedly claimed that Iran's missile program is in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231, which endorses the JCPOA.

Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri said on Saturday that the primary condition for possible global negotiations on Iran's missiles is the destruction of nuclear weapons and long-range missiles that the United States and European nations have.

"What Americans say out of desperation about exerting restrictions on Iran's missile capabilities is their unreachable dream", Deputy Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri said.
