The headquarters in San Bruno, California, have been placed on lockdown after police swarmed the area following reports of shots being fired.

Law enforcement sources told The Los Angeles Times that the shooting appears to be an instance of workplace or domestic violence, not terrorism.

Police say the shooter is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Vadim Lavrusik said he barricaded himself and others inside a room before they were able to escape safely.

Lisa Kim, a spokeswoman for Stanford Health Care, said the hospital was receiving between four to five patients from the shooting incident at the YouTube offices.

Two of the victims were found at an adjacent business, Chief Barberini said.

Google, who purchased YouTube in November 2006 in a stock deal that was worth about $1.65 billion, tweeted that it is coordinating with authorities.

Three people are being treated for injuries at the hospital. Spokesman Brent Andrew says a 36-year-old man was in critical condition, a 32-year-old woman was in serious condition and a 27-year-old woman was in fair condition.

Just before 4:30 p.m., they confirmed they were dealing with an active shooter.

Footage has emerged from the area, showing armed police canvassing the property.

City officials told KRON that they have received multiple 911 calls from the YouTube campus regarding a shooting.

The San Bruno Police Department urged people to stay away from the building, located at Cherry Ave and Bay Hill Drive.

He could not confirm initial reports that a second shooter was involved.

"Was just briefed on the shooting at YouTube's headquarters in San Bruno, California", President Donald Trump tweeted. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says it's also responding to the shooting at YouTube's suburban campus.
