Apple needs to make rounds to the court.

Now it looks like the keyboard debacle has been taken one step further because according to AppleInsider, a class action lawsuit has been filed in which it claims that Apple knew about the defects in their keyboards but still chose to ship them out anyway.

On May 11, a class-action lawsuit was filed in Northern California's U.S. District Court against Apple. "Apple failed to disclose that the keyboard is defective, and this information would have been important to Plaintiffs" decision to purchase a MacBook".

This reporter, who wrote the inciting piece about how her MacBook Pro keyboard simply couldn't remain functional regardless of how many times she got it fixed, has since sold her 2016 model back to Apple and continues to use her 2013 MacBook Pro, praying every day that it doesn't die.

Minister for Health and Family Welfare, J P Nadda congratulated the award winners and appreciated their exemplary services. The award carries a medal, a certificate, a citation certificate and Rs. 50,000/-in cash to each of the awardees.

Apple's butterfly keyboard and MacBook are produced and assembled in such a way that when minimal amounts of dust or debris accumulate under or around a key, keystrokes fail to register. This leads to unregistered keystrokes making the machine useless.

While the majority of MacBooks and MacBook Pros are obviously working fine with the new keyboards, a substantial number of users have reported problems. However, the fix could take a week or more, which would leave the user without a laptop for that time. Furthermore, it knew of the issues uses of the 12-inch MacBook were having, yet still brought the butterfly keyboard to the MacBook Pro and sold it at "premium prices".

Consumers then launched an online petition demanding that Apple recall all of the MacBook Pro laptops since late 2016, and replace the keyboards. Releasing their newest technology during the function, Phil Schiller, SVP of Worldwide Marketing said that the new keyboards are "much more precise, accurate and are 4 times more stable than the older scissor mechanism". If this is indeed the case, Apple appears to have neglected to address the issue properly. But of course, they weren't open about it.

The suits assert major breaches by Apple which include, breach of express warranty, breach of the covenant of good faith, breach of the implied warranty, violation of the Magnuson-Moss and Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Acts, violation of the California Unfair Competition Law, violation of California's Consumer Legal Remedies Act and fraudulent concealment. Under the lawsuit, Apple is expected to publicly accept the flaw, as complainants seek damages, legal costs and reimbursements of replacement keyboards and MacBooks from Apple.
