Now, Australian Airway has officially tested the capacity of the Tesla Model X by towing a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at a remote taxiway at Melbourne Airport.

Electric Vehicle brand Tesla has now hopped onto the car-towing-airplanes bandwagon. With this, Tesla has set a new Guinness World Record for the heaviest tow (130 tonnes) done by a production electric vehicle.

Electric automobile manufacturer Tesla has recently set a new Guinness World Record for the heaviest tow by a production Electric Vehicle (EV).

Tesla along with Qantas came together for a more updated take on the same stunt. This model has all-wheel drive thanks to a dual-motor setup and makes peak torque off-the-line.

The Dreamliner, which weighs around 565,000Ibs when carrying fuel, is much heavier than the recommend tow limit for the Model X, which is around 5,500Ibs. The Germans retaliated with the Porsche Cayenne S Diesel past year, which pulled a 285-tonne Airbus A380 for an impressive 73 metres.
