The White House National Security Council is ending the role of cyber coordinator, according to an internal announcement obtained by CNN on Tuesday. "Fortunately, our bill will fill in those holes in government cybersecurity oversight by creating a National Office for Cyberspace in the White House". Mark Warner of Virginia said the coordinator was "the only person in the federal government tasked with delivering a coordinated, whole-of-government response to the growing cyber threats facing our nation", CNET reports.

"The National Security Council's cyber office already has two very capable senior directors", a spokesman for the NSC, Robert Palladino, said in a statement, The Hill reported.

The executive dismissal comes a week after Politico first reported Bolton was highly considering removing the White House role of cyber policy adviser.

According to an email sent to National Security Council employees seen by Politico, the decision is part of an effort to "streamline authority" for the senior directors who lead most NSC teams.

Everton sack Sam Allardyce as manager
Allardyce stabilised the club and helped them finish the campaign in a respectable eighth position. Former Watford and Hull City manager Marco Silva is the favourite to replace Allardyce.

The decision to do away with the role was met by criticism by government officials and cybersecurity experts, who fear that the Trump administration won't be ready to handle the increasing cybersecurity threats the U.S. is facing - from hacking of digital election systems to cyber penetration efforts by Russian and Iranian hackers.

"Since Ambassador Bolton has come onto the job, he and I speak regularly", she said, describing cybersecurity strategy work between herself and Bolton as "hand in glove". We also need to articulate a clear cyber doctrine.

A pair of Democratic lawmakers are introducing a bill that would save the top cybersecurity role at the White House after the Trump administration announced Tuesday it plans to eliminate the position.

"The US needs cybersecurity leadership today more than ever, but the current structure of our top officials needs to be overhauled if we hope to correct course".
