Excitement for the film is growing, and United Kingdom fans will get to see Solo: A Star Wars Story a day earlier than everyone else, with it set to hit cinemas on 24 May. Lucasfilm cites translation issues between their president Kathleen Kennedy and the journalist from the French publication, Premiere.

Directed by Ron Howard from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke as Qi'ra and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.

Meanwhile, Ehrenreich has revealed that he is under contract for two more "Star Wars" films, meaning his Han Solo could very well appear in a future Lando standalone film.

Update: Following on from the initial publication of their article, Premiere have updated (via io9) with a clarification from a Lucasfilm rep.

Donald Glover is Lando Calrissian in “Solo A Star Wars Story.”

Donald Glover even knew he was the right choice and celebrated the casting in style himself. "My dad imprinted me with this kind of Star Wars longing, because it does feel like the Bible to me in a lot of ways".

There had been speculation online that the next Star Wars spin-off (meaning a film not part of the franchise's core Skywalker saga, such as The Force Awakens or The Last Jedi) would be dedicated to Obi-Wan Kenobi, possibly bringing back Ewan McGregor to reprise his role from the prequel trilogy. Is there enough meat to fill an entire Lando film?

It's nearly a no brainer to give the character and actor combination of Lando Calrissian and Donald Glover a shot at headlining a movie sometime down the line.

We receive a little taste of it within the Lando Marvel Comics series, which is second only to both Darth Vader run. If you are late to the party, you definitely need to check it out.
