The pamphlet's republication comes as the security debate on whether Sweden will join North Atlantic Treaty Organisation has intensified following alleged Russian violations of Swedish airspace and territorial waters.

It was officially neutral during World War II.

"If Crisis or War Comes" advises Swedes on rationing, propaganda and clean water. "If you are prepared, you are contributing to improving the ability of the country as a whole to cope with a major strain".

And Stockholm has started reversing military spending cuts and previous year staged its biggest military exercises in almost a quarter of a century, as well as voting to reintroduce conscription and unveilling joint plans with Denmark to counter Russian cyber-attacks and disinformation.

The leaflet gives advice on how to take shelter, what information to trust and describes what an air raid warning sounds like.

Furthermore, the booklet makes it clear that all fit Swedes and foreign residents would be expected to play their part should a crisis occur, as everyone living in Sweden has a "duty to contribute to total defense", which, depending on an individual's health, could mean conscription to the armed forces, or to civil or governmental agencies.

"Comply with requests from the police, the fire and rescue service and the authorities".

While Swedish authorities previous year reported that the number of violent Islamists in the country has risen tenfold in a decade to more than 2,000, the pamphlet is non-specific about potential terror threats to the country, warning simply that "attacks may be targeted against individual people or groups, against the general public or against vital societal functions such as the electricity supply or the transport system".

A new version of a Cold War-era emergency booklet covering different situations, including war, is being sent out in Sweden.

Titled "Om Krisen Eller Kriget Kommer" ("If Crisis or War Comes"), it explains what to do in just such an event-though it's been more than 200 years since Sweden has been at war with another country. Updates were issued regularly to the general public until 1961, and then to local and national government officials until 1991. "All information to the effect that resistance is to cease is false".

"If Sweden is attacked by another country, we will never give up", according to the pamphlet that will be distributed during the May 28-June 3 Emergency Preparedness Week.

The leaflet, which is entitled If Crisis or War Comes, has been distributed amid concerns over Russia's military activities and the rise of terrorism and fake news.

Goodell wants uniform standards for sports betting
It's a rip-off and hopefully state legislatures won't go for it, but that's what the leagues want. That means betting on sports, including American football, could be made legal across all states.
