Trump wants Russian Federation to rejoin G-7

This time, the greatest threat to the liberal world order will be inside the fence.

Donald Trump has been busy attacking US allies ahead of the G7 summit which begins today in the town of La Malbaie in Quebec.

British Prime Minister Theresa May and her husband Philip May arrive in Canada, for the annual summit of G7 leaders.

If there are no other options, "they would not hesitate to isolate the United States", Canada's Prime Minister and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed after a "very friendly" dinner in Ottawa late Wednesday ahead of the summit, sources with the French presidency said.

President Trump will head to Singapore next week for an historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, where he will address the rogue country's controversial nuclear program.

But it is not such a stretch to imagine that the U.S. leader will enjoy a warmer encounter with the autocrat from Pyongyang than with his Canadian hosts and European and Japanese allies.

To no one's surprise, Trump tweeted his dissatisfaction on Thursday, calling the whole thing "ironic".

The tone in the immediate run-up to the meetings at La Malbaie showed no sign of compromise between a United States president determined to disrupt the status quo to force more favourable terms for the U.S., and six USA allies resolved to stop him.

Trump's comment was in line with his unusually friendly stance toward Russian Federation, despite evidence that it interfered in the 2016 election to help his campaign.

Trump says that Russian Federation should be reinstated as a G8 member
German Chancellor Angela Merkelsaid they were "illegal", while Trudeau said they were "insulting and totally unacceptable". Trudeau and Macron expressed strong support for those institutions Thursday.

Leaders like Trudeau and Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel admit it will be hard to even agree on a joint communiqué at the two-day meeting.

But before leaving Washington, he made clear that he too has no intention of backing down on his plan to rebalance trade by imposing tariffs on steel, aluminum and other goods imported from United States allies. Trump is said to have shot back.

When Barack Obama bade farewell to the German chancellor on his last overseas visit as president, Ms Merkel's eyes are said to have welled with tears as she contemplated the change in the White House. "He is sticking to his guns".

He added: "Prime Minister Trudeau is being so indignant, bringing up the relationship that the USA and Canada had over the many years and all sorts of other things...but he doesn't bring up the fact that they charge us up to 300% on dairy - hurting our Farmers, killing our Agriculture!"

"Until we can have reciprocal relationships, we will not have free trade, and we will not have fair trade", Kudlow said. Something tells me that if Mar-a-Lago was sacked Trump would know exactly who was responsible.

Europe does not come to Quebec from a position of strength.

Macron made initial headway in forming a public friendship with Trump, but has failed to sway the USA leader on any issue, while Merkel has been distracted by coalition negotiations.

Trump will leave the gathering at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and put Everett Eissenstat, his deputy assistant for worldwide economic affairs, in charge for the remaining sessions, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a statement on Thursday.

Italy has always been considered one of the most pro-Russia members of the European Union.
