Dehradun, Jun 6 (UNI) Afghanistan lived up to their superior position in the MRF Tyres ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings, trumping Bangladesh for the second game in a row in their three-match Twenty20 global series to clinch it with a game in hand.

Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets in the second match to secure an indisputable lead in the three-match T-20 series here on Tuesday night.

After failing to chase in the first game, Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh skipper, opted to put runs on the board in the 2nd game but his side failed to accumulate a decent total which saw Afghanistan comfortably chasing down the target.

Earlier, a combined effort by top and middle order batsman helped Afghanistan post a fighting 145/6 in the allotted 20 overs. The legspinner defended eight runs in the final over to script Afghanistan's 3-0 clean sweep over Bangladesh in the Twenty20 global series in Dehradun.

Still, they would hope that the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim can motivate themselves once more to salvage some pride. The third and final match in the series is slated to be played on Thursday with the Bangladeshi team looking to salvage the situation by not losing the series 0-3. Afghanistan lost the first wicket at 38 runs. Mushfiqur scored a 37-ball 46 runs.
