The pizza chain announced on Monday that it would partner with American towns and cities to fix their potholes, ostensibly to provide a smoother ride home for takeaway pizzas. Fouracre encourages Michiganders to enter the fray by nominating their communities with pizza-ruining potholes.

Domino's has kicked off the campaign by repairing roads in Bartonville, Texas; Milford, Delaware; Athens, Georgia; and Burbank, California.

"Paving for Pizza" is a new initiative run by the chain to help cities and local government fix aging and deteriorated roads.

And no, they're not kidding, they really are filling in potholes, although not at random, as towns need to be nominated on the Paving For Pizza website. The accompanying website also has, aside from a nomination form and carryout special, a "pothole impact meter" with video to show what happens to a pizza from an in-box camera on varying road conditions.

"Paving for Pizza" is determined to help cities across the country repave potholes.

The fixed pot holes are then stamped with a Domino's logo and the motivational slogan "Oh yes we did". In Milford, DE, a four-man road-crew filled 40 potholes over the course of a day's work.

The inspection report stated that officials inspected a dough delivery truck and found no traces of contamination before it dropped off the product at the restaurant.

A "third-party organization" will vet ZIP codes based on their popularity and the municipalities' receptiveness to the program, she said.
