It's Lonely For Trump At G7…On Russia, Trade Policy

German Chancellor Angela Merkel says she finds President Donald Trump's tweet disavowing a common statement after the Group of Seven summit in Canada "sobering" and "a little depressing".

A majority of the G7 member nations ousted Russian Federation from the organization in 2014 after it annexed Crimea, the first violation of a European country's borders since World War II. He plans an early exit from the G-7 meeting.

Before he left for the summit in Canada, Trump said to reporters that he had been Russia's "worst nightmare" but argued the country should be part of the economic talks.

On Saturday, G7 participants slammed Russia's support for the Syrian regime and Moscow's attempts to undermine democracy at a meeting in Quebec City, Canada.

The US president accused other states of "robbing" his country through their trade policies. We do know, however, that Trump sees no value in having a group of allies get together to discuss the challenges they face in the world today.

It's revealing that he said "we should have Russian Federation at the negotiating table", because the G-7 meeting is not a negotiation.

Yet Trump wants them there, and other than his apparently desperate desire to hang out with Putin, it's hard to imagine why.

The two countries also signed a raft of deals, including for nuclear cooperation projects totalling 20 billion yuan (US$3.13 billion) and a United States $1 billion industrial investment fund.

Footage of the unrest was aired on the state TV channel with a red cross drawn across it, indicating the authorities' disapproval. A draft law would allow foreign investors to lease land in special economic zones for up to 99 years.

China and Russian Federation, which wield veto power over any move to lift or impose United Nations sanctions, don't want accelerated reunification or US military deployment north of the 38th parallel dividing the Korean Peninsula. That's an idea he just can not wrap his head around.

"In the future we'll be talking about future trade relations, but of course the security relationship that underpins the UK's long-standing special relationship with the United States is of particular importance to us".

The G-7 is a group of countries that have the leaders meeting once a year.

The US leader fired off a series of messages on Twitter hitting out at his counterparts before the summit even opened.

White House officials have reportedly being working towards holding a summit with Putin under instruction from Trump who has consistently said he wants better relations with Russian Federation despite accusations they meddled in 2016's election. Donald Trump's style is to go it alone.

Nuclear power deals signed by the two leaders in Beijing - the biggest such cooperation agreements between the two countries that were reached after more than two years of negotiation - cover three projects including the Tianwan plant in Jiangsu and the Xudabao facility in Liaoning, state-run China National Nuclear Corporation said in a statement.

Referring to the Mueller investigation, and the possibility it may result in criminal charges against him, Trump maintained he has "the absolute right to pardon myself", adding "but I'll never have to do it because I didn't do anything wrong".

Mr Trump will skip G7 meetings about climate change, clean energy and ocean protection.
