It's been a matter of weeks since Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande started dating, but yesterday reports surfaced that the pair are engaged and yep we all have whiplash because FAST.

When one fan wrote, "I hope he knows he is marrying us as well", the 24-year-old responded, "He has been briefed".

Grande and Davidson have been exchanging flirty messages and posting about each other on social media, with Grande teasing engagement rumours on Twitter.

Though many users were left speculating on the meaning of her latest post, some savvy fans made the connection instantly.

The news of Grande and Davidson's engagement comes after both recently split from their exes - Ariana from rapper Mac Miller and Davidson from Cazzie, who he dated on and off for 2 years. Shortly after, it was revealed that she and Pete Davidson were dating. The second tattoo, her initials, is located on his hand, according to BuzzFeed.

While their courtship was swift, an Us Weeklysource reports that "they are not rushing to get married".

Fans also noticed Ariana sporting the ring in an impromptu interview with Big Boy TV. What is even more shocking is that the two of them announced their engagement 20 days after confirming their relationship. While we were busy focusing on the new Grande ink, we somehow managed to miss the other new art on Davidson's forearm - one that conveniently covers his tattoo of his ex Cazzie David's face.
