Arsenal legend Robert Pires has backed Manchester United midfielder to be a success if he moves to the Emirates on a free deal this summer, according to the Mirror.

Two clubs from China are also interested in the attacking midfielder.

The Red Devils signed the Belgium worldwide in a £75m deal from Premier League rivals Everton in the 2017 summer transfer window.

"It's Mourinho. He wanted Diogo to play for United - that's all the influence that is necessary when a great club and a great manager are both willing to sign him", a source close to the player said.

Mourinho later described him as one of the finest full-backs of his age group in Europe, who could play on either flank - and Dalot certainly looks the part in the way he carries himself on camera.

Standing at six feet tall, the former Porto man can play at right or left back easily and is expected to be an important member of Jose Mourinho's squad next season.

Talisca, who spent the last two seasons on loan at Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas, has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League, most notably Manchester United.

"He needs a new start and I think, with his quality, I think he can help Unai Emery and he can help the Arsenal players in the squad". "I think that's very good for players, it's important and you improve a lot day-by-day".

Adil is a player that Pires knows well and the Frenchman is confident that the youngster can thrive under Unai Emery.
