The application, which was published on June 7, outlines a system where artificial intelligence is used to determine "uncharacteristic user states".

Uber is also exploring the possibility of matching inebriated passengers with drivers who have had relevant training to deal with drunk behaviour.

The system, described by members of Uber's Trust & Safety team in 2016, tracks how someone normally uses Uber's app through AI - if they commit typos, their walking speed, and the rate at which they drop their phone. The system will also give drivers more information and warning about the passenger's state and make them get prepared for the adventure ahead.

A new Uber patent would use AI to tell if passengers are drunk. So it can better detect your unusual behavior.

According to a new patent application, Uber is working on a way to let its drivers know exactly how drunk passengers are before they pick them up.

Migrants transferred to Italian ships to be taken to Spain
Among those on board the Aquarius are seven pregnant women, 11 young children and 123 unaccompanied minors. The migrants were rescued in six separate night-time operations in the central Mediterranean on Saturday.

Given drunk people are not known to be the most lucid, sensible or even polite people, certainly here in the United Kingdom, the system could alert Uber drivers to the fact their upcoming customer is flying a few sheets to the wind.

Uber's patents said that the company's VR system will address this issue. But now, Uber plans to provide a quite safer hailing service to people who are drunk.

Just how Uber takes steps to avoid this scenario is anyone's guess.

Ironically, Uber is concerned about drunk passengers assaulting their drivers while it is turning a blind eye to the many cases of sexual assault by Uber drivers. The new patent aims at improving the experience of both drivers and the riders.
