New Jaguar E-Pace models will be able to learn their drivers habits and adapt settings accordingly, with the introduction of Smart Settings.

The Jaguar E-Pace hasn't been on sale that long, but already it's getting updates. But times have changed - rather quickly.

The newly available engine is a 200hp 2.0-litre petrol engine, for which Jaguar estimates combined fuel economy of 34.4mpg, Carbon dioxide emissions of 186g/km, and a 0-60mph acceleration time of 7.7 seconds. That's less economical than its more powerful siblings, but that's down to the changeover to WLTP testing figures, so you can be sure the more powerful options will see their economy figures revised shortly.

The new engine features the same collection of advanced technologies found across the rest of the Ingenium engine family. The vehicle will then adjust the seat, climate and infotainment settings based on that driver's usual preference.

This allows the auto to sense an approaching driver and their smartphone's Bluetooth, and can adjust the seat, climate and infotainment based on a driver's typical preferences. For example, it will heat the steering wheel in colder weather without prompting if the driver has done this in the same conditions multiple times. This suspension monitors vehicle movements every two milliseconds and calculates the required damping force every 10 milliseconds.

It also comes with a 4G Wi-Fi Hotspot, Pro Services, and Navigation Pro - offering real-time traffic information, door-to-door routing from your smartphone, street view and parking availability. The highly efficient filters are neatly integrated to the after-treatment system and trap ultrafine particulates as the exhaust gases pass through.

The Jaguar E-PACE is available to order at United Kingdom retailers now priced from £28,500. In a petrol engine, under normal driving conditions, the trapped soot will be oxidised into Carbon dioxide and the filter regenerated whenever the driver lifts off the accelerator.

But the British luxury manufacturer isn't sitting on its laurels with the E-Pace as it's already enhancing the popular luxury crossover by broadening its range of engines and adding adaptive suspension and AI tech to the menu.
