Could Jimmy Butler be the next superstar traded?

Talking about the reason why Butler allegedly wants to leave the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Chicago Sun-Times again cited a league source, who claimed that the former Chicago Bulls All-Star guard has "no intentions" of signing a contract extension with the Timberwolves because of the "nonchalant attitude" of younger teammates such as Karl-Anthony Towns. Irving and Butler can team up there and dominate the Eastern Conference.

Butler and Irving each can opt out of the final year of their contracts next summer and become unrestricted free agents. Butler was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night and Irving was moved to the Boston Celtics in August.

Dwight Howard has finalized a buyout with the Brooklyn Nets and will sign a one-year deal with the Washington Wizards once he clears waivers, according to a report from The Athletic on Tuesday.

Butler, 28, averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game in 59 games in his first season with the Timberwolves. The Wolves have great young pieces around him who aren't even close to their primes and they still won 47 games in the West past year.

Arrest in Humboldt Broncos bus crash that killed 16 people
Saskatchewan RCMP say charges have been laid in a fatal bus crash that involved the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team. The news comes exactly three months after the incident, which killed 16 people and injured 13 others.

It is possible that Butler could be traded for a second consecutive summer, and hardly out of the question that he winds up joining Irving in Boston.

When stars decide they want to play together there isn't much teams can do about it besides try to be accommodating.

LeBron James has gone out West to the Los Angeles Lakers, and the East is up for grabs for the first time in nearly a decade. Well, the Bulls have done business with the Wolves as recently as previous year - ironically involving Butler - and maybe it's time John Paxson and Gar Forman reach out once again. But if Irving and Butler do one day end up as teammates - either this year, next year, or beyond - we'll at least know then that it was a long time coming. They'd probably have a better chance of re-signing him than Leonard, who has his eyes on going to L.A.in 2019. Apparently, Butler is unhappy.
