The video shows the boys in an isolation ward in beds with crisp white sheets and wearing green surgical masks.

A video of the boys in hospital was shown at the news conference.

Parents watched and waved from behind a glass barrier, their faces vivid with emotion.

"Don't need to worry about their physical health and even more so for their mental health", said Chaiwetch Thanapaisal, director of Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital.

"Harry's given his all, his family have given the support and we've given the support as well as an organisation", he said.

Football's governing body FIFA welcomed the rescue of 12 Thai boys from a cave but said they were too weak to attend Sunday's World Cup final in Moscow.

The astonishing story has gripped Thailand and the world since the group was discovered trapped alive by two British cave divers on July 2, nine days after disappearing while exploring the Tham Luang cave system.

World leaders, including President Donald Trump, tweeted their good wishes, and the Manchester United football team invited the boys to their stadium.Nat Sumon reported from Chiang Rai, Thailand, and Alastair Jamieson from London.

The head of the operation, Narongsak Osottanakorn, said a final operation would be "more challenging" because one more survivor would be brought out than the previous two operations, along with three Navy SEALs who have been accompanying them.

Thongchai said one member of the final group of four boys and the coach who arrived at a hospital Tuesday evening had a slight lung infection. They entered the Tham Luang cave near the border with Myanmar on June 23 and flash floods forced them to seek refugee on higher ground deep in the 10km-long cave. They were found by a pair of British divers almost 10 days later, huddled on a small, dry shelf just above the water, smiling with relief but visibly skinny.

The complex mission for global and Thai divers to guide the boys and coach through the cave's flooded and tight passageways riveted people worldwide.

The dramatic rescue operation dominated front-page headlines in Thailand.

"The situation went beyond just being a rescue mission and became a symbol of unity among mankind", he said.

The 12 boys and their coach who were saved from a cave in northern Thailand are doing well mentally and physically, a Thai health official has said, amid an outpouring of gratitude for those involved in their rescue.

Each of the boys, ages 11 to 16 and with no diving experience, was guided out by divers though rocky, muddy and water passages that in places were just a crawl space. But Thai officials, acutely aware the monsoon rains could trap the boys for months, seized a window of opportunity provided by relatively mild weather. This mission was successful because of cooperation from everyone.

"FIFA's priority remains the health of everyone involved in the operation and we will look into finding a new opportunity to invite the boys to a Federation Internationale de Football Association event to share with them a moment of communion and celebration", a spokesman said.

Dripping water, birthday snacks and meditation all helped keep the team alive until divers eventually reached them. "It's possibly because they stayed together as a team throughout the ordeal".
