A 15-foot, 1,300-pound saltwater croc was captured in Australia.

A picture of the massive croc showed it with its jaw tapped down and its body tightly bound to a grate with ropes.

Rangers caught the crocodile Monday after setting a trap on a private property near Katherine, a town in Northern Territory, Australia.

Tourists swim, canoe and take cruises in the gorge among freshwater crocodiles, a different species that are small, timid and rarely harm humans.

Wildlife rangers in northern Australia captured a massive 600 kilogram (1,300 pound) crocodile after first spotting it almost a decade ago.

"It is a bit of a thrill", wildlife ranger John Burke told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, "but you've also got to admire the size of the animal and how old it is".
