Jose Mourinho believes that England missed a golden opportunity to reach the World Cup final, dumped out of the competition 2-1 by Croatia on Wednesday.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea have already started preparing for the new campaign but it appears Jose Mourinho gave his players a lengthier vacation than his counterparts.

The 32-year-old Juventus striker, netted the victor in extra-time last night to knock England out of the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation.

Of course, there are plenty of Red Devils players still in contention at Russian Federation too.

Paul Pogba still haunted by Euro 2016 final defeat
He is very listened to in the group. "Against Portugal we thought we had won it before the start of the game". Hazard continued: "The French team has done what they have done since Didier Deschamps came in as coach".

The 25-year-old has suffered a number of niggling injuries throughout his career and is yet to play 30 league games in a single season so the Spanish publication says Madrid are ready to sell the £53m-rated star and replace him with a more reliable defender.

"England have reason to cry because they were so close to [reaching the World Cup final], but they have also have reason to be optimistic", the Manchester United manager told RT.

"The players and the squad, everybody involved in the World Cup, have a reason to come back home with pride after giving everything and making the country proud".

The 29-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer and, while he has since committed his long-term future to Inter Milan, Mourinho remains a fan of the attacker.
