Kevin Anderson told South African youngsters to "stick to their dreams" and follow in his footsteps after he knocked Roger Federer out of Wimbledon on Wednesday. He's the top seed and playing like it, winning sets that are close and others where he's simply dominated every touch.

There aren't many people who could teach Sachin Tendulkar a thing or two about cricket, but Federer appears to be one of them. "I have been building over the last couple of weeks, and the level of tennis I have played in the last couple of months felt like it was getting better and better and I feel like I am peaking at the right moment". I said today is going to be my day.

Federer, 36, was on a quest for his ninth Wimbledon title and 21st Grand Slam trophy overall.

All told, this match is a true tossup and it wouldn't be a surprise if it extends deep into the fifth set before a victor emerges.

Kevin Anderson dethroned Roger Federer to reach his maiden Wimbledon semi-final after sealing a dramatic 13-11 deciding-set victory on Wednesday.

"I've been there before". I was able to bring that.

'Then off the baseline I wasn't feeling as good either as I had hoped to, but still good enough to be in there and maybe win the match. Now I feel horribly tired and just very bad. This is Djokovic's second consecutive Wimbledon quarterfinal.

Anderson, a three-time All-American at IL, moves onto the semifinals of Wimbledon for the first time in his career. He is by far their most successful current tennis player, with Chanel Simmonds the highest-ranked woman at 316 in the WTA rankings and Lloyd Harris, at 221, the next South African on the list in the men's log. I wanted to put myself in these positions. That's a bad feeling to have.

It warns that "escalating trade tensions pose considerable risks to the outlook" at the global level. The BoC believes USA steel tariffs will be felt in the second half of 2018 but could take longer.

"You are reluctant to write Roger off - just the way that he moves around the court and he stays injury free", said the Australian, who won the title in 1987.

There's a sense of loss whenever Federer is beaten because he's so good to watch.

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal is realistic about who he wants to face should he reach the Wimbledon final this year.

Djokovic is back in the locker room and he will be saying "thank you very much". Against someone like Roger, if you go out there with doubts, like I did in the first set, it's not going to go well.

Anderson held his nerve with his relentless and powerful serve win the fourth and send the rip-roaring contest into an unlikely fifth and deciding set.

What an upset. This one had a taste of an easy victory after the first two sets. All credit to Anderson, he hung in there and somehow won the third.

It seemed the longer it went on the more aggressive he became and better he played at the end.
