In this image made from video, released by Thailand Government Spokesman Bureau, family members watch the rescued boys through a window outside the recovery ward at the Chiang Rai hospital in Chiang Rai province, northern Thailand, Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

Thai authorities on Wednesday also released the first footage of several boys from a football team recovering in hospital after they were rescued from a flooded cave.

Coach Ake, as he is known, is the assistant coach who was with the 12 boys in the caves, and was the last person to be rescued.

Nopparat Kanthawong, the head coach of the Wild Boars team, told CNN that he did not know why the boys had gone into the cave.

Thai doctors said the boys each lost about 2 kilograms, or roughly 4.5 pounds, from the ordeal.

A high-risk global mission ensued and the group was eventually rescued.

At a school opposite the hospital in Chiang Rai where the boys are recovering, schoolchildren were in an excited, celebratory mood.

Officials plan an interactive museum at the Tham Luang cave based on the historic rescue mission that will feature items such as clothing that key rescuers wore during the operation, Narongsak said.

"It's really a miracle", Payap said.

"We don't see the children as at fault or as heroes".

Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported that the children were sedated and placed on stretchers to prevent them from panicking during the rescue mission from the Tham Luang cave complex.

The rescue sparked jubilation with Thais heaping praise on the rescue team of foreign and local divers as the triumphant tagline "Hooyah" pinballed across social media.

After completion of the rescue effort on Tuesday night, Harris learned his own father had died.

One of the boys was wearing a Real Madrid t-shirt.

Two of the first group had lung infection as well, and will need medicine for the next seven days.

None of the boys was heard speaking in the clips shown at the news conference. All of them have higher leukocyte (white blood cell) levels than normal, but they have been given antibiotics to treat any infection. At other times, they endured dives lasting up to half an hour in the pitch-black waters. That's good news for the boys who had said they were looking forward to fried rice with basil.

"Anyone can bring this card to show it to the doctors, so the doctor can be alerted to any kinds of diseases and take care of them, such as colds", Thongchai said.

But it will still be up to a week before all of the boys can hug their mums and dads.

Parents of the second group of boys, those rescued Monday, will be allowed to make similar visits later today, according to the Health Department's deputy chief. Doctors were anxious about potential infections the children could have contracted in the cave.

He was asked for by name to join the rescue mission after his abilities had earned him a worldwide reputation.
