Godzilla 2 First Look Goes Atomic with the King of Monsters

Godzilla Godzilla 2 First Look Goes Atomic with the King of Monsters

In the history of the Godzilla series, it's tough to gauge the strength of each vast creature, as the conflicts between monsters require both brute strength and fighting strategies to come out on top. The official title of the sequel is Godzilla: King of the Monsters and it's a follow up to 2014's Godzilla. Michael Dougherty went into some detail about one of those monsters, Rodan, calling him a "winged A-bomb". Head on over to EW to read the rest of their report, or stay tuned for more on Godzilla: King of The Monsters (probably written by gentleman, scholar and noted Godzilla aficionado Evan Saathoff, who really should have written this post) as further updates become available. "I think we've done him justice". The success of the film helped launch the "MonsterVerse" of films, which will pit Godzilla against a variety of iconic characters.

Say what you will about the 1998 Godzilla, but that movie had a pretty ingenious method of advertising the size of the titular beast without giving away its appearance, launching a series of posters emblazoned with such ominous boasts as "His foot is bigger than this bus".

"It takes place at a very key moment and it's a sort of call to arms", he said. While we shouldn't expect to see the primate debut in King of the Monsters, Dougherty teased that there will be plenty of clues that lead to the chaotic conflict.

Seven explosions in 10 minutes: China chemical plant blast kills 19
A septic tank explosion last November destroyed a wide swathe of a light industrial area in Ningbo, just south of Shanghai. In 2015, a blast in a chemical warehouse in the northern port city of Tianjin left 165 people dead and multiple injured.

Gareth Edwards used the infamous Kaiju sparingly, saving the special effects budget for a slobber-knocker of a brawl between Godzilla and a pair of MUTO monsters that saw an entire city Man of Steeled in the process.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is set for release on March 22nd, 2019 and sees Michael Dougherty (Krampus) directing returning Godzilla stars Sally Hawkins (Dr. Vivienne Graham) and Ken Watanabe (Dr. Ishiro Serizawa), and new additions Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), O'Shea Jackson Jr. The director went on to say that he may even be more powerful than Godzilla.
