It is not the first time De Bruyne has had knee trouble having missed nine weeks of the 2015-16 campaign - his first at City - with ligament damage.

Manchester City are set to be without Kevin De Bruyne for three months but the Belgium midfielder does not require surgery on a lateral knee ligament injury.

Manchester United ended up in second place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last season as Manchester City ran away with the title and won the trophy with a record points tally.

The Belgium worldwide, a second-half substitute in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Arsenal, suffered the injury in training on Wednesday.

Now based in Florida, he was a successful amateur player in his youth, winning the Ulster Boys' and Ulster Youths' Championships. While we may not have had the Irish victor we wanted, Ireland does play a major park in Koepka's remarkable story.

Reports claimed City had been hopeful that the all-action midfielder would be in contention to make his return as early as the middle of October but the club's latest update confirms he is likely to be out until November at the earliest.

"I don't think Pep Guardiola would have any problem with starting him against Huddersfield with there being little danger of them losing that game", said Le Tissier, who believes Foden should now be getting 10-12 starts a season.

"Kevin is a great player and it's just unfortunate that it's happened to him in training but there's more than enough depth in the squad", City right-back Kyle Walker said on Wednesday evening.

Alan Smith is tipping Manchester United to finish in third place in the Premier League table this season, behind Manchester City and Liverpool FC.
