Alexander Gerst, a German astronaut who's now orbiting Earth from 250 miles up, has a warning for humans on the planet below him.

"This photo shows the enormous size of Hurricane Florence, taken with a wide-angle lens from the International Space Station, almost 250 miles directly above the eye of the storm", they tweeted. "It's chilling, even from space", he tweeted.

Early on Wednesday, astronaut Alexander Gerst captured this absolutely stunning image of Florence's eye from the International Space Station, some 250 miles above Earth.

A new high-definition video and photos taken from the International Space Station show the size of scope of Hurricane Florence, a Category 4 storm heading toward landfall in the Southeast U.S. later this week. Get prepared on the East Coast, this is a no-kidding nightmare coming for you.

This slump in virtual currency has surpassed the 78% decline in Nasdaq Composite Index following the dot-com bubble burst in 2000. That's been a disappointment for bulls, but it's good news for everyone else at a time when digital assets are tumbling.

Astronaut Ricky Arnold, who is aboard the ISS, also snapped a picture of the storm, writing that the ISS crew is "thinking of those who will be affected" by its devastation.

The video tracks across the swirling clouds at the outer edges of the hurricane before passing over the eye.

Florence is expected to strike North Carolina's coast on Friday, then drift southwest before moving inland on Saturday, according to Miami's National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The US National Hurricane Center said Hurricane Florence maximum sustained winds were 115 miles per hour as any other regular Category 3 storm, on Wednesday at 8 PM EDT. Jasmine writes primarily in our LGBTTQQIAAP and Science section.
