Lindsey Graham on Rosenstein Story: ‘There’s a Bureaucratic Coup’ Against Trump

Steven Clarke | 24 September, 2018, 01:14

Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Sunday there is "a bureaucratic coup" at work against President Donald Trump.

The New York Times reported last week that deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein had suggested secretly recording Trump to set the stage for pursuing the US Constitution's 25th Amendment, which provides for the cabinet and then Congress to force out a president who is incapable of discharging duties.

"He shouldn't fire Rosenstein unless you believe Rosenstein's lying, he said he didn't do the things alleged", Graham said. If Rosenstein's involved, he should be fired. Strzok, who helped lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation inquiry into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, lost his job after officials discovered he had been exchanging anti-Trump text messages in 2016 with Page, a lawyer, who has also left the department.

"Before the election the people in question tried to taint the election, tip it Clinton's favor. If he's not involved, leave him alone".

Jason Miller Steps Away from Role at CNN
Miller and Delgado first entered into a relationship while they both worked for the Trump campaign, and while Miller was married. Delgado attempted to involve in her continuous attempts to smear me" had "already" disproven her allegation in the filing.

Compounding Woodward's account, The New York Times went on to publish an op-ed by an anonymous senior official - whose identity remains a mystery - claiming that select administration staff members are so alarmed by the president's "erratic" and "amoral" behavior that they actively sabotage his most extreme policy efforts. Another official said that Rosenstein made the comments about taping Trump in jest.

"We need a special counsel to look at this, not Mr. Horowitz, the IG", Graham added.

Graham then said a new special counsel is needed to investigate the FBI's conduct and investigation of Trump, and that Rosenstein is doing the country a "disservice" by not appointing another special counsel. "The statement was sarcastic and was never discussed with any intention of recording a conversation with the president".
