UFC boss: Khabib Nurmagomedov won't be stripped of title

Russia’s Khabib Nurmagomedov chases down Conor Mc Gregor in their UFC lightweight championship bout in Las Vegas Khabib Nurmagomedov's Father Not Happy with His Son's Actions At UFC 229

In the main event for the fight card, Nurmagomedov submitted former champion Conor McGregor in the fourth round. While the UFC president, Dana White confiscated Nurmagomedov's lightweight championship belt. His post-fight antics put Khabib in a lot of trouble, and he's facing severe repercussions from Nevada State Athletic Commission and UFC. Nurmagomedov then proceeded to jump outside the cage and attacked McGregor's friend and training partner, Dillon Danis, who was yelling insults at Nurmagomedov during the fight.

Nurmagomedov was hustled out, surrounded by security officers, as a pro-McGregor crowd jeered and threw drinks at him. White told "First Take" on Monday that McGregor has also brought it up to him directly.

"He absolutely keeps his title", White said.

"He is going to get suspended so maybe you give him four to six months' suspension", said White.

"They're talking about keeping his purse".

Ross Barkley feels more mature after two years in England wilderness
It's been a while since I've been called up and this is the first time I've been selected since I've been with Chelsea . I [asked] him: 'Big one?' and he said: 'I don't think so, but big enough that I go off'".

"He had a hood on, trying to be low key, but he came up to me, he was respectful, he was like 'hey man, you're holding it down for the jiu jitsu community, you're doing your thing, I admire you, I appreciate it.' He was cool about the whole situation".

White defended against critics who said the promotion had stoked the flames of the brawl by highlighting an infamous bus attack by McGregor.

You'd think going after White's auto would add more punishment for Nurmagomedov after that, but then again, smashing a motorized vehicle controlled by White has never really led to serious repercussions from the UFC. He just beat Conor in front of the entire world. So that right hand, you know... he was very disappointed he got caught with a shot like that.

Now Nurmagomedov's father has released his first statement on the incident where he admonished his son's actions while promising to punish him far worse than anything the UFC could have in store for him.
