It said four died along the frontier east of Al-Bureij in central Gaza, two east of Gaza City and one near Rafah in southern Gaza.

A group of Palestinian terrorists set off a bomb on the Israel-Gaza Strip border on Friday and attacked a nearby IDF position.

Israel suspended fuel deliveries to Gaza on Friday in response to border violence which the Hamas-run health ministry said left seven Palestinians dead in the coastal enclave.

Addressing the unrest, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman made a decision to cut Qatari fuel shipments into the Gaza Strip in response to the mass protests.

The P.A., controlled by the Fatah Party, is engaged in a long-standing rivalry with the Hamas, which controls Gaza and has slashed salaries to public servants in Gaza by as much as 30 percent. "He should spend the rest of his time as the envoy of the U.N. Secretary-General on vacation with his Israeli friends, or traveling at the expense of [U.S. President Donald] Trump or those who fund this moral and political digression, in which he has drowned".

Tensions between Israelis and Palestinians on the Gaza border have been mounting since late March, which marked the start of a wave of protests called the "Great March of Return".

Protesters have sent incendiary devices attached to balloons into Israeli territory during demonstrations, which Israel says has caused hundreds of thousands of dollars-worth of damage to farmland.

The Israeli military has been criticised by Palestinians and worldwide human rights groups for its lethal response to the protests. They also seek the right to return to lands that Palestinians fled or were driven from upon Israel's founding in 1948.

They are also calling for Israel to end its crippling blockade of the strip.

In recent weeks, protests have begun occurring on other days as well, ratcheting up the tension between Israel and militant factions in Gaza, led by Hamas.

The talks have stalled, partly due to pressure form Abbas, but on Tuesday a smaller UN-brokered agreement was reached for Qatar to finance fuel deliveries to Gaza for six months.

But thousands of protestors again gathered Friday in sites along the border, AFP correspondents said.

Hamas' chief, Ismail Haniyeh, who attended a protest in east Gaza City, said that "the determination of the Palestinian people will break the siege".
