President Donald Trump has declared the USA will uncover the truth about what happened to journalist and US resident Jamal Khashoggi, whose possible murder at Saudi hands after disappearing in Istanbul has captured worldwide attention.

The Jordanian government also affirmed the Kingdom's central role in consolidating security, stability and peace and enhancing economic cooperation both regionally and globally.

Khashoggi, who has lived in self-imposed exile in the USA since a year ago to avoid possible arrest, has not been seen since entering the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul on October 2 and was reported missing by his Turkish fiancee.

Turkish government investigators say they believe Khashoggi was murdered and dismembered within a few hours of entering the building.

This image taken from CCTV video obtained by the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet claims to show Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, October 2, 2018.

Saudi Arabia warned on Sunday it would retaliate against any sanctions imposed on the oil-rich kingdom over Khashoggi's disappearance, as the Riyadh stock market plunged on growing investor jitters.

By the close, the market had recovered some of its losses, ending down 3.5 percent.

The Saudi delegation, whose composition was not immediately clear, is expected to meet with Turkish officials in Ankara at the weekend, state media said on Friday.

Media minister Jumana Ghunaimat said in a press statement on Sunday that Jordan stands with Saudi Arabia in the face of any targeted rumors and campaigns aimed without relying on facts. Trump said "we would be punishing ourselves" by stopping arms sales to Saudi Arabia because it is a "tremendous order for our companies" and that the Middle Eastern nation would simply purchase its weapons from Russian Federation.

Moreover, Roberto Perli of Cornerstone Macro calculates that a big part of the higher rates is an increase in the "term premium". USA presidents have typically avoided commenting on the Federal Reserve's moves, wary of violating the Fed's independence.

Flake said if the Saudis did, in fact, kill Khashoggi, Congress might specifically curtail US military aid to Saudi-led forces in Yemen.

This news has coincided with a massive WWE event that is set to take place on 2 November in Saudi Arabia.

Salman also affirmed the kingdom's "solid" ties with Turkey, saying no one could undermine the relationship between the two countries, the Saudi foreign ministry said. "We want their children, women, and even their men to shiver whenever the name of Saudi Arabia is mentioned".

Saudi Arabia has said it had nothing to do with Khashoggi's disappearance, without explaining or offering evidence of how the writer left the consulate and disappeared into Istanbul with his fiancée waiting outside.

In protest of Khashoggi's disappearance, several USA businesses leaders have pulled out of next week's Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, dubbed "Davos in the Desert", after the annual meeting of world economic interests in Switzerland.

In disgust over Khashoggi's disappearance, some business leaders have pulled out of an investment conference later this month in Saudi Arabia. "I don't think any of our government officials should be going and pretending it's business as usual until we know exactly what's happened here".

"So, we do that, we really are hurting our country a lot more than we're hurting Saudi Arabia".

A joint statement of condemnation, if it is confirmed that Mr Khashoggi was killed by Saudi agents, is also being discussed by USA and European diplomats.

"Just because they are an ally in an important mission, which is containing Iranian expansion in the region, can not allow us to overlook or walk away from that".
