Tyler Perry Reveals He's Killing "Madea" Character In 2019

Tyler Perry is finally ready to kill Madea off. But in 2019, exactly 20 years after audiences first met the tough-talking grandmother, Perry is taking off the makeup and wig once and for all. I just don't want to be her age playing her, So, we're going to say goodbye to her.

In 2019, he's sending Madea to the upper room with a farewell stage tour and his forthcoming film, Tyler Perry's a Madea Family Funeral, slated to arrive on March 1, 2019.

The last time Madea was featured in a film was Boo 2! Both movies were written and directed by Perry. Over the proceeding decades, the character has appeared in nine more plays, along with 10 films ("Madea Family Funeral" will be the franchise's 11th movie).
