Trump's national attention turns to state races

President Donald Trump is campaigning for Georgia's Republican gubernatorial candidate, Brian Kemp, who is locked in one of the tightest races in the country. It won't be fun for Republicans, mind you, but it might be a longer-term headache for Democrats to just barely eke out a win in the House. The two are competing to fill the Senate seat left open by Sen.

The US midterm elections on 6 November will decide who controls US Congress plum in the middle of the Donald Trump presidency.

The final Rasmussen Reports Generic Congressional Ballot before Election Day shows Republicans edging ahead by one point, but in essence, the two parties are tied.

"They want to impose socialism on our country".

Trump has delivered a very different closing argument, railing against Latin American immigrants seeking asylum at the USA border.

With most reasonable forecasts now predicting that Republicans will continue to control the Senate, what kind of net gain would the Democrats have to achieve in the House for this to rightly be considered a genuine wave election? Night after night, Trump unleashes grievances against the media, attacks his political foes, showcases his own accomplishments and promises that he alone can achieve the nation's potential. The district is a traditionally Republican one but one where affluent suburbanites have been skeptical of Trump.

In Florida and Georgia, Democrats are aiming to become the states' first African American governors.

But that didn't keep Trump, who has two more campaign stops in IN and Missouri tonight, from encouraging his supporters to get out to the polls.

Trump heaped praise on Mike DeWine, the state's current attorney general and Republican candidate for governor, who is deadlocked in a neck-and-neck race with Democrat Rich Cordray, the former director of President Obama's Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Almost as soon as the polls close on Tuesday night, Pelosi will face another campaign: One to keep her job as the Democratic leader in the House.

The midterm elections are certain to have implications for Wall Street, regardless of how they shape the balance of power in Congress.

"The race has tightened and it's fitting that the victor will be decided based on who can best turn out out their voters on Election Day", he said.

Apple could be slowing iPhone XR production amidst weak demand
According to the report, Apple is now requesting more production of the older iPhone models including iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. What this means in practice is that Foxconn will make around 100,000 fewer units each day to reflect the new demand outlook.

Nationally: The Trump administration announced it is planning to reinstate sanctions on Iran on Monday that had previously been removed under the 2015 nuclear deal.

"No, he will have lost the House", Wallace said.

But in the first midterm under Trump - an utterly unconventional president - there are many unknowns, above all the bottom-line impact of a president who has driven both supporters and foes to a rare fever pitch of emotion.

Pollsters say Democrats may win the 23 seats they need to take over the House of Representatives, and possibly 15 or so extra seats. "There is a lot of energy out there".

As a rule of thumb, the party that controls the presidency loses seats in the midterm elections.

Between Trump's "trade war", his renegotiation of global treaties, robust United States growth and full employment, the economy is at the heart of this election.

"Democrats retain their advantage in the battle for the House, but Republicans could be buoyed by increasingly positive assessments of the economy and by President Trump's harsh focus on the issues of immigration and border security, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News national poll", wrote the Post.

On the other side, Republicans led with voters between the ages of 50 and 64 (52% to 43%), men (50% to 43%) and whites (50% to 44%).

But in what could be a sharp warning sign for Republicans, that poll reported college-educated white women - the so-called suburban moms seen as crucial to the 2018 outcome - favor Democrats by a substantial 61 percent to 33 percent. Days later, an avid Trump supporter was arrested for mailing pipe bombs to prominent critics of the president, all of whom Trump routinely derides as "evil" and "un-American".

"We're not letting these people invade our country", Trump declared.

Laying into the tangled legal scandals enveloping the Trump administration - especially the possible collusion between his presidential campaign and Russian operatives - Mr Obama scoffed: "They've racked up enough indictments to fill a football team". That means Democrats would only need to win seven of the 30 seats that Cook rates as "toss-ups".

"There's got to be consequences when people don't tell the truth, when words stop meaning anything".
