A 10-year-old girl has appeared in court in Wisconsin charged with killing a six-month-old boy. When the baby cried, she panicked and stomped on the child's head, the sheriff said.
The incident happened in the same county where three Girl Scouts were killed by a truck driver over the weekend.
The accused was accompanied by her biological parents in court, where Judge James Isaacson ordered her to be detained on a $50,000 (£38,280) cash bond.
The six-month-old was taken to Gillette Children's Hospital in Saint Paul, where he died two days later on 1 November.
A 6-month-old boy at a licensed day care center in the rural town of Wheaton, just west of Chippewa Falls, was found unresponsive and bleeding from the head.
