This is about what we expected, but now it's seemingly been confirmed ahead of the reveal event. The OnePlus 6T price in India starts from Rs 37,999 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage version and Rs 41,999 for the mid variant featuring 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. The OnePlus 6T also has a larger AMOLED display as it comes with a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display whereas the OnePlus 6 came with a 6.28-inch display.

The OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 both use a Snapdragon 845 chipset and come with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, so there's no difference there. It is to be known that Apple Inc. will be launching the next set of gadgets on October 30, due to which OnePlus 6T's launch was pre-poned to October 29. The 6T has a teardrop style notch on the front.

The OnePlus 6 that was announced in May this year could not compete very well with its rivals in the low-light photography department. OnePlus says the in-display scanner on the 6T is the fastest one we have seen on any smartphone till date. However, OnePlus has made the controversial decision to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack, opting instead for audio over USB-C.

There is a 3700 mAh battery - but no wireless charging - and a dual Nano SIM that we've become used to from OnePlus.

There's still no IP certification on offer, but OnePlus tells us that the handset is "water resistant for everyday use".

The dual rear camera setup on the OP6T is similar to the OP6, offering 16MP and 20MP cameras. The front-facing camera on the OnePlus 6T is a 16MP sensor. The company has stated that the Nightscape, the smart HDR for night mode as the company is calling it, would be arriving on the OnePlus 6 also sometime this week. Notably, the NightScape mode is coming to the OnePlus 6 with a software update later this week.

"Our rationale is that the person who wants to take the device swimming shouldn't be able to raise the cost of the device for everyone; that's our OnePlus way of looking at it". The phone is running Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box with the company's own OxygenOS on top. To recall, the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro arrived with Pie a couple of weeks ago.

Elsewhere, there's not much to distinguish the latest OnePlus 6T from the OnePlus 6. Then, they offer more RAM than most flagship phones, 128 or 256GB of storage (not 64GB) and in-display fingerprint scanner starting at $549.

The three models will be available on the company's website, though T-Mobile will only be carrying the $579 model in "mirror black". The new 6T is also slightly thicker and heavier as well compared to the OP 6.

In-display fingerprint sensors are the way of the future, and they're slowly taking place of the capacitive sensors we all know and love.
