The fallout from Jim Acosta's verbal argument with President Donald Trump didn't take long to manifest: The CNN reporter said on Wednesday he was denied access to the White House just hours after challenging Trump during a televised press conference.

When Acosta tried to ask another question on Russia, Trump said "that's enough!" as a White House aide unsuccessfully tried to grab the microphone from Acosta.

The video allegedly speeds up Acosta's arm motion to make it appear that he essentially karate chopped the female intern - but Watson has taken to Twitter to defend himself.

Ms Sanders, in a statement posted in a Twitter thread, said the White House would "never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job".

Various press organizations have chose to chime on the Trump administration's decision to revoke Jim Acosta's hard press pass on Wednesday night.

CNN reporter Jim Acosta was dressed down by Trump after challenging him on his characterisation of the migrant caravan heading to the USA as an "invasion". Mr. Trump grew angry with Acosta and tried to move on to another question. He sought to ask a question about the Russian Federation investigation, but Trump said he didn't have any worry about the "hoax" and told him to put down the microphone. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that Acosta's credentials have been suspended.

"Just sit down", Trump said.

Taylor went on to top score with 80 to setup New Zealand's victory while Hafeez remained wicketless from his six overs. The New Zealand cricketers have wrapped up a 47-run win over Pakistan in the first one-day worldwide in Abu Dhabi .

"Thank you for telling me that", Trump said.

"They can play that game, but we can play it better", he said. I think they're trying to shut us down. You are a rude awful person.

CNN's Jim Acosta and President Donald Trump got into a heated exchange that left some conservatives and media figures at each other's throats.

The group urged the White House to "immediately reverse this weak and misguided action" and encouraged the public to watch the video of Acosta's interaction with the intern. Acosta started his question by quoting a poem etched at the base of the Statue of Liberty and asked whether the government was rigging the system for Great Britain and Australia. He said she was rude for interrupting another reporter, though he did briefly answer one of Ryan's questions.

Both CNN and Acosta have described the allegation as "a lie".

Waving his finger, Mr Trump berated him.

Looking back at Acosta, who again rose up in his own defence, Trump added: "When you report fake news, which CNN does a lot, you are the enemy of the people".

Abby Huntsman said people will see what they want to see because of the polarized political landscape. "They are not only risky, they are disturbingly un-American", the network said, voicing its support for Acosta and "journalists everywhere".
