"Things was just starting to heat up for me", Bryant said on Twitter a few hours after the injury.

New Orleans Saints receiver Dez Bryant is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles on Friday, and he's reacting to the news.

Bryant, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, was optimistic about joining the Saints after experiencing an acrimonious split with the Dallas Cowboys earlier this year. He was carted off the practice field and taken to get an MRI.

Here's wishing well to Bryant and hope for a swift recovery.

In 16 games previous year for the Dallas Cowboys, Bryant had 69 catches for 838 yards and six touchdowns.

The WR - who just signed with the Saints earlier this week - was running a route when he collapsed. Per Schefter, the Saints could turn to Brandon Marshall, who also worked out for the team along with Bryant recently. He led the league in receiving TDs in 2014.

Saints head coach Sean Payton got his chance to weigh in on the Dez Bryant signing on Thursday morning and Payton said that the veteran wideout has been on the team's radar for a while.
