Google Chrome introduces an ad-block feature for websites showing spam-ads

Chrome will soon warn you about tricky mobile subscription signups Chrome 71 will warn users about websites with shady phone subscription forms

Google Chrome will soon stop you from falling into that trap. Yes, the Chrome 71 will now block every ad on a site that shows them constantly.

Thankfully, Google has just announced plans to fight these "unclear subscription pages" with an upcoming update to the Chrome browser (Android, iOS) scheduled for a few weeks from now. "Users will be offered the choice to proceed to the page or go back if they were unaware that they were entering a billing page", states the blog post.

In a bid to scam users, there are web pages that give inadequate information about their subscription services. Apps containing programming code produce a fake system warning that sends you to a website where you are tricked into signing up for a subscription service that could cost you hundreds of dollars a month. Information should be visible on all types of devices.

Starting from Chrome 71, the browser will display a warning to users, any time a page doesn't follow these guidelines. Fee structures will have to be displayed in a manner that is easy to understand so there is no confusion about payments.

Such forms have been around for decades, and they've been used to let users pay for things by entering their phone number into a form, which in turns charges the user by adding a fee to his monthly (fixed or mobile) telephone bill. When Google introduced in-app charges to Google Play in 2011, it started billing customers without password requirements or other methods to obtain account holder authorization, the FTC said.

Floods in Jordan kill 12, force tourists to flee Petra
It broadcast footage of tourists sheltering on high ground on both sides of the access road to Jordan's biggest attraction. Jordan's ministry of education announced that schools across the country would be closed on Sunday.

Google expanded efforts to better protect users this week.

Google will remove the warning in Chrome after reviewing the changes.

Chrome informed that sites will be required to make billing information, including telling users how much they will be charged, what they will be charged for, for how long, and ensuring those details are clear and visible to users, wrote Mashable.
