Trump claims video distributed by White House wasn't altered

President Trump and Acosta got into a "White House press tantrum" during a press conference this week to the point where an intern tried to physically grab the mic away from the CNN reporter.

One reporter asked Trump for his current feelings about the CNN journalist, especially after Wednesday's nasty exchange with him in the East Room of the White House.

Reporters asked Trump Friday how long Acosta's press pass would be revoked.

The sparring started after Acosta asked Trump about the caravan of migrants heading from Latin America to the southern USA border. "It's a group of migrants moving up from Central America towards the border with the U.S.", Acosta said on Wednesday, pushing his own personal opinion and not exactly asking a "question" of the president.

Trump also accused Acosta of treating Press Secretary Sarah Sanders in a way that was "awful".

On Friday, the president lambasted CNN White House correspondent Abby D. Phillip after she questioned him about special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe after the appointment of Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general.

Next on the docket was American Urban Radio Networks reporter April Ryan - a "loser", according to the president.

"From my review of the various videos of the press conference, I believe that the video tweeted by the Press Secretary is misleading but I don't see unambiguous evidence that it has been doctored", Farid told Motherboard via email. Her job is very clearly to undermine journalists whenever it protects her boss.

In between his calls for "respect", Trump called Acosta "unprofessional" and disparaged the reporter's intelligence. She doesn't know what the hell she's doing. In fact, she asked the most pertinent question of the day.

Cooper offered no pushback on Acosta's blatant lie. He does this with everybody, he gets paid to do that.

Olivier Knox, president of the White House Correspondents Association, said his organization's board met Thursday with Sanders and White House communications director Bill Shine for what it expected to be a series of conversations about Acosta's status. "I think we deserve that".

"When you're in the White House, this is a very sacred place to be", he said.

Looking back at Acosta, who again rose up in his own defence, Trump added: "When you report fake news, which CNN does a lot, you are the enemy of the people". "But it could be others also", Trump told reporters.

Richard Tofel, the president of ProPublica, tweeted on Friday morning, "What is the plan for when Trump concocts an excuse for vetoing a reporter" from the New York Times or Washington Post?
