Real Madrid have been dealt a blow after striker Karim Benzema had to depart in their recent win over Real Betis after fracturing his finger during play.

Isco's five La Liga starts this season all came while Julen Lopetegui was at the helm, but Solari insisted there was nothing personal in his decision to leave the 26-year-old on the bench as a weakened Madrid side won 2-1 at Real Betis on Sunday.

Madrid coach Santiago Solari later revealed Benzema had fractured his hand, and that the experienced forward had suffered as a result. "The player's situation will continue to be monitored".

Real Betis is to host Real Madrid on Sunday at the Benito Villamarin Stadium in Seville.

"We had many, very young players on the pitch today - Fede Valverde [20], Vinicius Junior [18], Brahim Diaz [19], Sergio Reguilon [22], Cristo Gonzalez [21]".

However, Mariano did join the team for part of the practice. "That is not a question for me", said Solari when asked about the Spain international's delicate situation at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Olivier effectively ended Pakistan's hopes when he took two wickets off successive balls in the third over of the morning. Mohammad Abbas, who supported from the other end, was run out for 9, moments before lunch.

"We played a serious game, we are who we are and we are all the team", he said after watching Luka Modric and Dani Ceballos fire his side to a much-needed win. "There is nothing personal involved". We all do our best, coaches too.

Before that, Solari said that "we are a squad which can be added to by the kids from Castilla if there are absences".

Meanwhile, Santos have sent a formal request to Real Madrid asking for Brazilian wonderkid Rodrygo's move to the Spanish giants to be delayed until December.

Although he was pleased to come on and score a late victor at his old stomping ground, it was tinged with mixed emotions.

"It's still a bit early but we are doing it [now] as a precaution".
