Kathmandu: A 49-year-old veteran Nepali sherpa has scaled Mount Everest for the 23rd time, breaking his own record in reaching atop the world's highest peak, media reports said Wednesday.

Kami Rita Sherpa, who originally is from Thame of Solukhmbu district, Nepal, scaled the highest mountain in the world at 7: 50 am today from Nepal's side.

Last year, Sherpa had climbed Mt Everest for the 22nd time and became the only Mountaineer in the world to hold the record for most summits on Mt Everest.

"I am not risen to break records, I just worked".

They also prepared facilities required for the mountain climbers who are expected to climb Mount Everest.

A guide for more than two decades, he first summited the 8,848-metre (29,029-foot) peak in 1994 when working for a commercial expedition.

Except Sherpa, no one has climbed the mountain more than 21 times.

His father was also a professional Sherpa guide. "I am like a soldier who leaves behind their wives, children and family to battle for the pride of the country".

Motorola's One Vision packs a cinematic screen and a clever camera
The Motorola One Vision is available immediately in Brazil and it will soon hit Mexico and other countries in Latin America. It seems like the phone comes in a single variant and it also has a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 512GB.

Perhaps most important, it is Sherpas who each year fix ropes and ladders over crevasses and icefalls that make things safer for the hundreds of climbers who will follow them.

Mr Sherpa broke the record previous year of 21 summits that he shared with two fellow countrymen, Apa Sherpa and Phurba Tashi Sherpa.

He started his summit from Camp IV on Tuesday night and reached the summit point on Wednesday morning, said a basement official.

"However, when these climbers reach the summit, only their names are highlighted and nothing mentioned about the hard work done by the Sherpas", Rita said last month.

Every aspiring mountaineer, between April and May, flocks to grab the opportunity of climbing the highest mountain in the world.

Each May, there are usually only a few windows of good weather near the summit during which climbers can attempt to scale the peak.

This season, almost 1,000 people, including 378 paying climbers, will attempt to scale the summit.
