Later that year, Hazard admitted he was torn between signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge and heading to Madrid, and believed Real to be "the best club in the world".

The 28-year-old will be officially unveiled on Thursday, June 13 once he has undergone his medical.

He won two Premier League titles, two UEFA Europa League titles, one FA Cup title and one League Cup title.

Hazard has had seven illustrious years at Chelsea, scoring 110 goals in 352 games for the London club since his arrival from Lille back in 2012.

A consistent match victor for the Blues, Hazard also scored the only goal to lead his side to victory in an FA cup final against the Manchester United, last year.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has paid tribute to the Belgian.

He may have left for Real Madrid but there is no ill-feeling towards Eden Hazard from Chelsea, who tweeted some of the Belgian's best off-field antics.

"The memories he leaves us with will not fade".

Hazard has made no secret of his interest in a move to Real, describing a move to the Bernabeu as a "dream".

"He provided all who watched Chelsea play with great entertainment and many match-winning contributions, and for that we thank Eden enormously".

"Leaving Chelsea is the biggest and toughest decision in my career".

"He has been a model professional throughout his time at the club, a wonderful individual to have around and a joy to work with".

"It is my dream since I was a kid".

The goalkeeper is now on global duty with his new Los Blancos teammate, and the former Atletico Madrid man feels that Hazard will prove vital in the team's objectives next season.

The likes of Paul Pogba and Christian Eriksen have also been linked with a move to the Bernabeu.
