Trump says he wants "full investigation" in alleged sex offender Epstein's death

United States investigators have found "serious irregularities" at the jail in NY where Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced hedge-fund owner, killed himself last Saturday, Attorney General William Barr has said.

Attorney General William Barr at a police conference on August 12 said that he was "frankly angry to learn of the MCC's failure to adequately secure this prisoner".

The Justice Department also said the warden of another facility in upstate NY has been named the acting warden at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where Epstein was being held.

Attorney General William Barr said on Monday that there were "serious irregularities" at the jail where Epstein was being held, vowing an investigation into what happened.

Attorney General Bill Barr directed the Bureau of Prisons to temporarily assign the warden of MCC to a regional office pending an FBI and Justice Department investigation into the death of the high-profile prisoner, Kupec said.

Days after his death in a USA jail, the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's alleged sex-trafficking ring continues with new focus on the people who may have assisted in what authorities have called a rampant sexual abuse of underage girls. "The victims deserve justice and they will get it", he said.

Epstein, 66, had been denied bail and faced up to 45 years behind bars on federal sex trafficking and conspiracy charges unsealed last month.

The guards failed to follow several protocols leading up to Epstein's death, according to the New York Times.

He also poured scorn on the fact that Epstein reportedly was not found for hours after taking his own life.

The facility where Epstein died is run by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the US Justice Department.

Epstein was accused in early July of sexually exploiting and abusing dozens of underage girls in the early 2000s.

Bolsonaro has cast himself as foe to the left-wing leaders around Latin America and celebrated his friendship with Macri. Argentina's credit default swap - or the cost of hedging bonds against sovereign default - soared to a multiyear high.

A determination on the cause of death 'is pending further information at this time, ' Sampson said in a statement.

The moves came a day after Barr expressed outrage Epstein was left unsecured.

"Every single person in the Justice Department - from your Main Justice headquarters staff all the way to the night-shift jailer - knew that this man was a suicide risk, and that his dark secrets couldn't be allowed to die with him", Sasse wrote.

Lisa Bloom, an attorney for several women who claim they were abused by Epstein, told CBS that she plans to file civil litigation against Epstein's estate.

James Petrucci, the warden at the federal prison in Otisville, New York, will serve as acting warden of the MCC, The Washington Times reported.

One of the guards had a different job in the jail and did not regularly perform correctional officer duties, the person said.

"Any coconspirators should not rest easy", Barr said.

Trump continued to face questions about this until the end of the gaggle, with a reporter asking "do you really think the Clintons are involved in Jeffrey Epstein's death?".

Even before Mr Epstein's death, public defenders had called the MCC conditions inhumane.

In June 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to one count of solicitation of prostitution and one count of solicitation of prostitution with a minor. He said it appears to him that the Bureau of Prisons is "protecting him and putting the blame on officers".
